2023 Reflection and 2024 New Perspectives
As we transition from 2023 into the promise of a new year, it’s a pivotal time to reflect on the strides we’ve made at Transylvania Angels Network (T.A.N.) and to envision our path forward.
A Year of Strategic Growth and Vibrant Community Engagement
The past year at T.A.N. was marked by significant achievements and dynamic engagement with the startup ecosystem.
In 2023, Transylvania Angels Network hosted 12 pitching meetups, an effective approach to connecting over 40 startups with potential investors. Each event was an opportunity for founders to directly engage with our network, presenting their visions and fielding questions from seasoned investors.
These meetups varied in style to suit the diverse needs of the startups and investors, ranging from focused presentations to interactive Q&A sessions. Our aim was always clear – to create a conducive environment for meaningful discussions and potential investment opportunities.
We owe a great deal of this year’s success to our partners who provided the necessary platforms for these interactions. Special thanks to ABC Incubator, RebelDot, JUSTROCKET, SALT AND PEPPER Group, ClujHUB, Impact Hub Bucharest, Fortech Investments, QUALITANCE, and Wolfpack Digital. Their support was not just about offering their space/locations but also about adding value to our events through their expertise and insights.
Active Participation in the Ecosystem
This year, we got involved in over 50 events related to the startup ecosystem. Whether we were speaking, judging, or just listening and learning, these events gave us plenty of opportunities to connect with others in the industry. It was about sharing experiences, picking up new ideas, and just being a part of the bigger conversation happening in the startup world.
Networking Events: Connecting with Purpose
We organized 7 networking events in 2023. These weren’t just meet-and-greets; they were about forming genuine connections. We chatted, shared stories, and exchanged ideas. It’s these kinds of interactions that make our community stronger and more cohesive. Plus, it’s always good to catch up over a coffee or a meal!
Educational Events: Learning Together
We’re still learning here at T.A.N., so we put together 4 educational events this year. We had some fantastic speakers like Vlad Cazacu, Dragos Nicolaescu, Nicolaj Højer Nielsen, and Phil McSweeney. These sessions provided critical insights into various facets of angel investing – from assessing startup potential to understanding market dynamics. They helped us dive deeper into the world of angel investing. It’s about staying curious and staying informed, and these events are a great way for all of us to do just that.
Investments: Making a Real Impact
In 2023, our focus at T.A.N. wasn’t just about funding; it was about making meaningful investments that catalyze change. We’re proud to say we’ve made 5 significant investments this year closing with an approximate of 1M euros invested in 2023. It represents our commitment to nurturing innovative startups and contributing to their growth. Over the last four years, we’ve invested over 3.5M euros, and it’s exciting to see the tangible impacts of these investments – not just in numbers, but in the real-world progress and success of the startups we believe in.

We’re gearing up to host an array of educational events, focusing on topics that matter most to our members.
